We didn't have the funds or ability to remodel our 40 year old bathroom, which was a deal breaker for a few buyers. We were looking into spending $800 to do a bathtub refinishing, but we weren't sure that would be enough. Patrick gave us information on the "Realvitalize" (I think that's how it's spelled) program which turned out to be a great option. The application was simple, and essentially we were given a $6000 interest free loan that would be paid out of the proceeds from the sale of the home. We were also put in touch with a coordinator from Angi's List, Alexandra, who contacted their trusted contractors to bid on our project. She handled the paperwork, the funding and was our liaison with the contractor, Brian, from Bravo Zulu. Brian's team refinished the bathtub, replaced the toilet, the sink, mirror and cabinet, and retiled the bathroom floor. He was even able to get someone to get our AC working again. We still had money left in the budget to get new window screens, a new washing machine and a full carpet cleaning. Almost immediately, we got three new offers and were very pleased to take the one that was above the original list price. And Patrick was able to ask Brian to give us an estimate to do the list of the buyer's requested repairs for us.
I should add that we had already moved out right after the home was put on the market so all of this was done while we were out of state. We put our trust in Patrick, and he absolutely came through for us.
I would suggest looking into the Realvitalize program if you need to do some fixing up to sell your home. It was very easy to do. The only thing I would do differently is to have applied for it sooner than we did. We had never heard of anything like it so we were hesitant to try it. I was worried there would end up being a "catch" to it, but it went smoothly, and there were no unexpected surprises and no up front costs for us.
The sale of our home should be completed in the next day or two. Yay! What a relief!"
